Catering to your physical nourishment as well as your spiritual and mental rejuvenation, all meals during the retreat are thoughtfully prepared by our chefs. Emphasizing vegetarian cuisine made with local, seasonal ingredients, each dish is crafted to support your body’s needs throughout the retreat, enhancing your journey towards clarity and wellness.

Where is it?

Our retreat venue has been voted one of the best in the world by Forbes, National Geographic Traveller, the Guardian and Telegraph. At Vale de Moses we will be tucked into a secluded valley in central Portugal, at the foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountains. Surrounded by forest with cascading river pools, waterfalls, birdsong and breeze whistling the leaves. There is plentiful land to be explored along moss-lined river paths, or you can simply relax in nearby hammocks or our floating shala.

Accomodation

We have a range of accommodation available to suit your taste and budget, from rustic stone cottages built into the valley slopes to glamping in bell tents. Wherever you stay, you will have nearby access to indoor and outdoor bathrooms and showers. All beds are quality Portuguese-made mattresses with memory foam toppers, cotton sheets, blankets, mosquito nets, comfy pillows and duvets. Adega cottage:

A Xisto, hand carved out of the mountainside and originally for wine pressing and storage, the Adega is now a 3-bed shared cottage space. Equipped with a wood burning stove, two single beds on separate levels with their own private entrances and a third single bed in a small private room called the Ninja Suite.

Myranda is a tech nerd and competitive volleyballer who first delved into yoga solely as a physical practice. But through the whirlwind of adventure we call life, she discovered the different components of “yoga” and began to experience the benefits of meditation, breathwork and more. Driven by curiousity, Myranda studied deeper and began to connect modern science terminology with ancient yogic texts.

Living in both the business and spiritual worlds, her goal is to bridge the gap between them and help others to access yogic practices in a tangible way that they both understand and can easily integrate into their daily lives.

Myranda brings a balance between spirituality and science in her approach. With a strong focus on enabling students to find mind-body connection, this creates a deep awareness that allows them to understand the impact of their practice and empower their growth.

Naianna is a mom of two, neuroscientist, and meditation and mindfulness teacher. She is passionate about the power we all have to rewire our brains, unlocking our unlimited potential. By enhancing focus, managing stress and anxiety, and building resilience, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence, we can transform our lives.

She integrates cutting-edge neuroscience with mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork to create a holistic approach that nurtures your brain’s natural growth and wellbeing. With a compassionate and encouraging approach, she aims to inspire a new way of living—one that redefines wellbeing through the power of neuroscience.

Anna is from Italy, and her passion for cooking runs in her blood. Alongside her work as a space holder, her heart is devoted to plant-based and whole foods cuisine. For Anna, food is far more than mere nourishment; it is an art form, a means of communication, and a way to foster love and connection.

What captivates her most is the sharing of stories around a large table. In these moments, when people gather to share a meal, precious memories are created and deep bonds are formed. A lovingly prepared dish has the power to open hearts and build bridges that transcend language and culture.

Mayara is a Brazilian-Portuguese yoga teacher with over 10 years of dedicated practice. Her yoga journey began in 2014 at a traditional studio in Sydney, where she discovered the transformative power of yoga. With a background in Digital Marketing, Mayara knows firsthand the challenges of maintaining balance and managing anxiety in a high-speed world. This personal experience fueled her passion to dive deeper into yoga, leading her to complete a comprehensive multi-style yoga teacher training course from India. Passionate about helping busy individuals integrate yoga into their lives, she focuses on practices that enhance overall well-being and teaching in natural settings to create the perfect blend of harmony for the body, mind, and soul.

Alexandra is a photographer, coordinator, and coach. Since a very young age, she’s been fascinated by people, nature, dynamics, and creation in all forms. Through photography, she translates what needs to be seen and felt — grasping the essence. She authentically connects with her models and clients, empowering them, and reflects on life through her work.

Alexandra often gets called to capture certain images, making it deeply intuitive. She thrives on building impact for brands and co-creating with people.

  • Our retreat venue has been voted one of the best in the world by Forbes, National Geographic Traveller, the Guardian and Telegraph. Vale de Moses sits within a steep wooded valley in central Portugal, in the remote forested foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountains.

  • We recommend flying into Lisbon where you can catch the Rede Expressos coach services to our local town of Oleiros, where we’ll pick you up for the short drive to the valley. If you fly into Porto, your only option is to drive (2.5hrs) but we will send all details and options in your welcome guide.

    For those travelling from outside Portugal, we highly recommend arriving a couple days early to adjust and enjoy the beautiful culture of Portugal before you come to see us in the mountains!

  • Our talented plant-based chefs bring passion and joy to their cooking. Using local and seasonal ingredients, meals will be full of pulses, grains, fresh herbs and spices. With such natural elements, every dish will not only be rich in flavour but also easy to digest, allowing for high energy and deep sleep.

    If you have any additional dietary requirements, our chefs will be certain to accomodate your needs.

  • Each day will begin with a morning practice, that may include yoga, meditation and breathwork, in our shala with breathtaking views over the valley. Our days will also include neuroscience and integration workshops to discover the effects and practical applications of our morning practices.
We have consciously built “free time” into every day to give you space to work, as our goal of this retreat is to help you incorporate these beneficial practices into your daily life. So, yes, we have wifi :)

    With the intention to create a unique experience, we have also sprinkled activities into the schedule that are designed to deepen your connection to self and nature. From a sweat lodge with river dips to evening sound healing, we encourage you to relax and release in our picturesque valley.

  • No yoga experience needed! Our practice will accomodate all levels and because we have a small group, you will get personalized attention to ensure you get the most out of the practice. Simply come with an open mind.

  • Yes, we offer a flexible cancellation policy as detailed below. As an alternative, if you know someone who would like to attend in your place, we are very happy to welcome them along! Please let us know about this change as soon as possible so we can prepare accordingly. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance that will cover the cost of both the retreat and your travel arrangements should you not be able to make it.
