My Why…

Hello! My name is Myranda, I have been practicing yoga for over ten years and it has quite literally, changed my life. I am also a tech nerd who has spent equal time immersed in the fast-paced world of tech startups. This industry is notorious for its long hours and high-pressure environments. To cope, I developed various mechanisms within my yoga practice to decompress and keep pushing forward. However, after a decade, it all came to a crashing halt as I hit the brick wall of burnout. 

This was a turning point in my life, shaking me to my core in the scariest, yet most enlightening ways. I ended up living at an ashram, finally completing my yoga teacher training that I “never had the time” to do, and letting down walls I had spent the better part of my life building. While I learnt many, many lessons, one major realization was that working longer and harder is not a direct reflection of greater commitment or capability; it is simply bad practice. What we consider to be “the way it is” is not the way it has to be. With this, I want to help others to not have to hit burnout before they prioritize their physical and mental health.

At The Yogi Social, our goal is to demystify yogic practices and make them accessible to everyone. We aim to educate on the science behind yoga and how it can be seamlessly integrated into daily life to enhance overall health and well-being.
